FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, JANUARY 5TH, 2026
5G Broadcast, A Reality in 2026 in the US with 40 million plus coverage planned
In the US, 2026 starts off with Tyche Media, licensee of WCRN, Boston, and Milachi Media, licensee of WWOO, Boston, both applying to the FCC for experimental 5G Broadcast licenses in anticipation of fully licensed 5G Broadcast facilities in 2026. The combined station coverage is 8,386,887 people. Using the X1 Mobile’s proprietary 5G Broadcast core, tests will include:
Use of the 5G Broadcast core to deliver content (video, audio, and data) to the stations for broadcast
Coordinating smooth delivery of content from a cell core to the 5G Broadcast core
Delivery of video/audio/data to first responders
Confirmation of video/audio/data delivery as per coverage maps
Field test reliability of new 5G Broadcast receivers with 5G Broadcast configured chips.
Data bonding between two stations in the same market
Initial testing of content delivery using fe-mbms per 3gpp release 18 and 19
Testing of app’s developed specifically for 5G Broadcast use
The next phase for the US deployment involves a network rollout of 10, 5G Broadcast enabled television stations covering over 40 million people plus various single 5G Broadcast network affiliates throughout the US.
“SuperFrank” Copsidas, CEO of XGN Global and X1 Mobile stated, “As 2026 ignites, the interest in 5G Broadcast is very real with major players seriously considering investments. 5G Broadcast will provide LPTV stations with a path to generate respectable revenue that will attract new
investment and financing.”
2026 is an exciting year in which 5G Broadcast will be deployed in the US and various parts of the world. With commercial 5G Broadcast receivers being released in Q2, 2026, 5G Broadcast is set to offer its cutting-edge technology. With the 3gpp’s Release 19, Broadcast Bands 112 (470-608
MHz) and 113 (606-698 MHz) become a standard for receivers. Fe-mbms also is a reality giving 5G Broadcast 60-70% more throughput than current e-mbms. Realistic business plans are developed for 5G Broadcasting to be a solid investment based on use cases of streaming video and radio, emergency alerts, first responder solutions, and data delivery/o1load for the benefit of cellular carriers, not to mention various public interest app’s.
XGN Global, X1 Mobile, Tyche Media, and Milachi Media are committed to rolling out the deployment of 5G Broadcast along with use cases and revenue models in 2026.
